For my sake I have decided to post what happened the other night so I don't have to keep repeating myself and bringing back what happened.
Yesterday we were on our way out to the new smiths out in Lehi, We were on the back road heading out of Alpine, We were just going past the cross walk out of west fld rd. Where the kids cross from the Jr high and Elementary school, Right there is a turn out with 3 homes, There are a lot of Oak trees. We were just passing those homes when we heard a big noise, It sounded like a bomb, Jim thought that someone through a rock and the side or on top of the Jeep, So we quickly pulled over, I looked back behind me to check on Cooper and saw that the rear window just a foot behind him was shattered. I told Jim wow the window is broke babe, I think it was more than a rock, We called the Cops and had them come and look, While they were on our way we looked in the back to see if we could find what went through our window... Nothing.... 2 cop cars showed up, they wrrote up a report and took a few pictures. They said that it was a bullet whole and that it was from a bb gun, pellett gun or 22. That is right a bullet.
There is no doubt in my mind there were angles in our Jeep, My sweet little boy could have been dead but by some luck we were going just the right speed that it hit the window a foot behind him, The hole is even to the side of his head.
No this is where I need your help everyone, I would love to hear from who ever reads this please, This is so hard for me, I cant eat sleep or even look at Cooper with out crying I have not slept since it happened because i am still in shock. The cops of Alpine did not but a report and pictures, They didnt look in our jeep for anything, they never looked around for the shell, the person. Nothin, I would like to at least go to the 3 homes around where it happened and ask if any of there kids were out shooting that night, And let them know what happened. I think they need to be aware there were guns fired in the yards, For the sake of there pets and families. I am not mad that my window is broken, I am mad that nothing is being done about it. I want to meet the person that did it and show them my baby and let them know that them being carless broke my window but could have taken my baby's life. Do you think this is something that i need to take farther, I have never had a follow up call from the Cops, Do i need to call the police chief or mayor and have something done? or do i need to drop it? Please Anyone tell me what you would do!
thanks so much

Personally, I would call the police chief. They need to take even something they consider a "small thing" seriously. Especially if it was a teenager or someone who should have known better.
I would call the police chief and then the mayor. Let me know what happens, cause if you don't feel like calling.... I'm going to call. I live in this area too and want to feel safe driving down whatever roads I want.
I would TOTALLY call the chief! That is ridiculous! They really need to take it seriously! Let me know what happens. My sister Jenn may care since she is going to drive her boy to Westfield in the fall for preschool.
I really dislike how some situations here are handled to be honest with ya...
This past September when someone was trying to get into our house-I called the cops-and they checekd them for warrants then let them go. I was so flippin' mad! When I got beat, I got blamed :( its a bummer :(
I think that is absolutely terrible! I think you have every right to look into the issue further. Seriously, what are they thinking, by NOT looking around and trying to figure out where the bullet came from. I would push the issue...FORSURE! Gol, I am so sorry. Hope you are feeling a little less shocked. What a terrible thing.
Oh ky i'm so sorry and so grateful you guys are all ok. My stomach dropped when you said it was a bullet. I pictured my little one and can totally understand not being able to sleep, crying, and what not. I personally think Alpine cops spend more time on the stupid things than the real things. You'll have to update me.
